SERVICE AND ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES

Dr. Graham is actively engaged in various organizations and activities that work to improve the local Guilford County community and the University community.  Graham works collaboratively with University peers, public school teachers and administrators, nonprofit organizations, faith-based leaders, business leaders, and parents of K-12 students to address issues that weaken the quality of life for members of the community.

Service to Local Public Schools

 

Dr. Graham has provided service to local public schools in a variety of ways. These include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Member and Co-Founder, DRIVE (Develop a Representative and Inclusive Vision for Education) Forsyth

  • Co-Chairperson, Early Literacy Subcommittee for Guilford County Schools African American Male Educational Excellence initiative​

  • Member, Guilford County Schools Achieving Educational Excellence for African American Male Students Project Team​

  • Member, Guilford County Schools Board of Education Achievement Gap Committee

  • Curriculum Writer, STEM Fellows Externship, Guilford Educational Alliance

Service to the Community

 

Dr. Graham has actively engaged students and parents in Guilford County and Winston-Salem/Forsyth County to improve the community.  These include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Creator and Coordinator, The Charles Hamilton Houston Summer Residential Leadership Institute for Adolescent Black Males

  • Creator and Coordinator, Brother-2-Brother African American Male Mentoring Program

  • Creator and Coordinator, Lunch with the Kings for 4th-Grade Africa American Male Students

  • Creator and Coordinator, The Annual African American Male Academic Achievement Banquet for Guilford County School Students

  • Creator and Coordinator, The Vance H. Chavis Oratorical Contest for Guilford County School Students

  • Co-Coordinator, The Southern Region of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated Leadership Development and Citizenship Education Institute

Service to the University
